There are 23 million smartphones in the UK – which amounts to almost half of all mobile handsets. Is your website mobile friendly? Not sure what this means? Then you’ve come to the right place to get started!.

By 2013 moer people will use a smartphone to browse the internet than a computer. Search for local goods and services via mobile has grown by 400% since 2010.

When someone is sitting comfortably in front of a computer using the internet they are in ‘browsing’ mode. But when they are out shopping, between appointments, waiting for a train, or out with friends, they are in ‘buying’ mode. For this reason the desktop and mobile experience are totally different.

Most people would not recommend a business with a bad mobile site and hearl half have turned to a competitor’s site after a bad mobile experience. In addition, almost a quarter have sworn at their phone when a site has not worked.

The vast majority of users prefer mobile sites to apps for researching prices. Almost as many prefer to browse mobile sites for product reviews and well over half prefer them for purchasing.

70% of mobile users have compared product prices on their smartphone, 65% have read product reviews, and half of all mobile searches actually lead to a purchase.
